Description

The proposed hydrophytes and methods of their landing were selected on base of analyze of repeated attempts of landing in different years of vegetative parts of several species of hydrophytes on shallow coasts of reservoir in Ukraine that for decades suffered from intense wave erosion. At a certain density of planting one of them, for a period of 7 years, due to its vegetative growths formed wave retarding colonies that stopped the wave abrasion sandy shore and led to shoreline stabilization.

The proposed method is a intensification of natural process of shore line strengthening that ensures minimal impact on the environment with high reliability and long-term nature of the result.

- Protecting of the coastline from erosion by waves with minimal cost compared with any construction methods,

- High effectiveness of the method without damaging effects on environment due to the use of natural processes.
