Production technology of ecologically pure sorbent for gathering of oil and its products from surfaces of water storages and soils.

A higher education establishment (Ukraine) offers a nonwaste technology of purification of soils and water surface from oil and its products. The technology based on use of a sorbent, which was got from natural oxidized graphite. It is characterized by high degree of surfaces purification, simplicity of distribution of the sorbent on surfaces, the high ability for absorption of oil and its products. The company is looking for investors to organize of fabrication of units for sorbent production.

Summary

A higher education establishment (Ukraine) offers a nonwaste technology of purification of soils and water surface from oil and its products. The technology based on use of a sorbent, which was got from natural oxidized graphite. It is characterized by high degree of surfaces purification, simplicity of distribution of the sorbent on surfaces, the high ability for absorption of oil and its products. The company is looking for investors to organize of fabrication of units for sorbent production.

Description

Proposed technology allows to organize an industrial production of ecologically clean sorbent. Such high-efficiency sorbent is thermally expanded graphite (TEG), which has a record high capacity of oil absorption in a powder-like condition – up to 80 g of oil or its products per 1 g of sorbent. The thermally expanded graphite can return 90 % of sorbed oil products. The sorbent can easily be reused (in the worst case, as an environmentally clean fuel). TEG is able to absorb not only hydrocarbons, organic and biological compounds but also inorganics, strong oxidants, ions of the coloured metals from water solutions etc. An effective mobile installation is engineered for its usage with the productivity of 200 kg of sorbent per hour, that allows to produce a sorbent directly in the field conditions if necessary.

Organization from Ukraine has a long-term experience in research and industrial field of manufacturing technology and the usage of modified thermally expanded graphite (the patents of Ukraine, a number of scientific articles are the proof of this) and is looking for partner to organize of fabrication of units for sorbent production.

Advantages and Innovations

The implementation of the technology allows to reduce the negative effects related to the oil spill. Each gram of the obtained sorbent (TEG) is able to absorb up to 80 grams of oil while analogues – up to 54 grams. The manufacturing cost of devices for TEG is in 3 times lower than existing ones, the cost of sorbent is lower by nearly 50%.
